The new building has brought about a lot of extra work for the custodian’s here at Zion and we are blessed to have Dick and Brent Johnson as well as their families take on those responsibility’s.

Thanks!! Dick, Brent, and your families for your service to Zion.
 
I would like to thank all of the dedicated members of the B&P committee for their hard work this year. We wouldn’t be able to accomplish all of the needs around Zion without the gifted members of this committee willing to give of their time and talent.

General meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm. Special meetings are held as required.

 2008 Annual Report from the Nominations and Recommendations Committee

1.          That each of us as members of Zion Lutheran Church should express our thankfulness to God for all that we have as a church family. We are grateful for the members who have committed their time to serving our Lord and the Zion Lutheran Church family.

2. That we express our thankfulness to Pastor John and Glenda and their family, and that as a church we support and nurture their work and leadership in Zion Lutheran Church.

3. That Zion Lutheran Church continue to show encouragement and support in 2009 to missionaries Anne & Willie Ruedisili Langdji through the support of the ELCA Missionaries.

4. That Zion Lutheran Church express thankfulness and give encouragement to the present staff: Cheryl Geller, Chris Torgeson, Hardy Lieberg, Mark Dimond, Velda Glick, Sherie Heine, Danette Krumwiede, Dick Johnson, Brent Johnson, Sue Summers, Jerry Jorgenson, and Nancy Harris.

5. That Zion Congregation thank retiring members of the Church Council: Peter Hugret, Renee Olson, Susan Ronnie, Allan Schon, and Harreitta Summers. Retiring members of the Trust committee: Arden Butts, Joel Hernes, Erv Johnson, Randy Korslien, and Curt Schall. Retiring members of the Nominations & Recommendations Committee: Patty Hildenbrand, Penny Lunstad, and Pamela Uran. Special Thanks to Rod Torgeson for his leadership as congregational president.

6. The nominations and recommendation committee recommends that the Zion council have a designated “youth” position on the council. This position should be a 2 year term and have voting privileges. Such a recommendation would require a change in the constitution

Current requirements for council are as follows”

C12.01  The voting member ship of the Congregation Council shall consist of the pastor(s) and not more than 15 members of the congregation. Any voting member of the congregation may be elected, subject to the length of continuous service permitted in that office. Etc…

C12.02 The members of the Congregation Council except the pastor(s) shall be elected to serve for 3 years. Such member shall be eligible to serve no more than two consecutive terms. Etc…..

Changes recommended:

C12.02  The voting member ship of the Congregation Council shall consist of the pastor(s) and not more than 14 adult members and 1 youth member of the congregation. Any voting member of the congregation may be elected, subject to the length of continuous service permitted in that office. Etc…
