Helpful hints for giving your dollars to the ministry of Zion Lutheran Church

Did you know??? Zion has several ways in which your financial gifts can be received automatically. Automated giving is a great convenience to you and provides a more steady income to the church. There are three ways you can give automatically or online.

Simply Giving: Your gift to the church can be automatically taken from your bank account at no cost to you or the church. You specify the amount and frequency, weekly, biweekly, monthly, etc. Thrivent (formerly Lutheran Brotherhood and Aid to Associated Lutherans) provides this service for free.

Credit Card giving through Simply Giving: Increase your credit card benefits and give to the Church. For a small fee to the church, you can have your credit card charged weekly, biweekly, or monthly. Simply Giving applications are available at the church or call and have one mailed to you today.

Online Giving: Zion now has a PayPal account. For a small fee to the church, Paypal allows you to give to the church either by bank account or credit card. (See the donations page...)

Still want to place an envelope in the offering plate each week? Those who are set up for automated giving can pick up stickers to place on your offering envelope that say “Simply Giving”. This lets you put something in the plate and lets the counters know you are on the automated giving program.

 BRIDGE Team Minimize

Excerpt from the 2009 Annual Report...

Zion's Bridge team is in the last year of our latest debt reduction campaign.  We work to keep the campaign alive and give you regular updates.  This year we included the stewardship campaign as part of our service.  We held a "Time and Talent Fair" this fall and provided a Fall Festival stew on Stewardship Sunday.

The latest figures from mid January are:
Debt Reduction campaign:

  • $530,513.64 total commitments
  • $457,234.60 paid portion of those commitments

This means that at 25 months into the 36 month campaign over 86% of the pledged money is collected.

The remaining mortgage is $685,781.45.  We aren't done yet:)

As of January 13th 230 pledges had been made for the 2010 regular offering for a total of $262,336.00.

Thanks to all who support Zion both through your financial donations and your time and talent offerings.  We couldn't do what we do without you!
